The 2011 Aile d’Argent, a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 38% Semillon and 2% Muscadelle with 20% under malolactic fermentation, has a very composed, fruit-drive bouquet with lime blossom and red apple where the new oak still needs time to integrate. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of spice on the entry, leading to a flavour-packed mid-palate with notes of white peach, pear and nectarine. It seems a little more phenolic than other vintages, the Semillon very expressive and attractive.
